As if part #1 wasn’t enough!!! They really left us hanging… So great we didn’t have to wait another week to catch this second part that ties everything together.

Meredith and Derek take another shot at the clinical trial while the others race to free a boy from a hardening block of cement. Meanwhile, Izzie helps Alex care for Rebecca and Lexie learns a secret about George’s intern status.

Episode 12 – Where the Wild Things Are

As Grey’s Anatomy gets underway, Dr. Meredith Grey sits anxiously in therapy, watching the clock and refusing to open up about why she’s there.

When she gets paged, she bails, and is pretty psyched about it because of the contest going on that she’s a part of. Meredith, Cristina, and Izzie talk trash, each confident that they’ll win the prize.

George has no idea what they’re talking about, and is jealous he can’t play, masking that with smart-ass comments about all of the participants and the contest itself.

Trailing by 26 points (the prize is not yet known), Izzie claims a patient with a swollen ankle. Cristina helps a man who’s holding his intestines in his hands, following a camping trip incident with Mrs. Bear. Mer consoles the woman from the camping trip, who it turns out is missing half the skin on her head. You gotta love Grey’s Anatomy!

Episode 11 – Lay Your Hands on Me

Derek and Mark are hiking and looking at the lot where Derek wants to build a house. He later shows Meredith the plans and she balks. Everyone wakes up with the aroma of Mer cooking. Lexie is angry at Alex for sleeping with Ava while George and Izzie are sleeping in different areas.

Bailey is ready to go to work when husband Tucker wants to talk about their relationship, which she doesn’t have time for. At the hospital, Callie and Hahn are friendly now that they’re drinking buddies. Rose flirts as Derek is conflicted because he wants to see it through with Meredith.

Izzie is apparently giving up on cardio, to Cristina’s happiness, but Hahn picks Alex to assist on patient Elizabeth Archer – who they find standing over another patient, claiming to be a faith healer. Hahn doesn’t believe or care. The patient wishes to cure herself through these methods.

Episode 10 – Crash Into Me, part II

Picking up where we left off in part 1, Lexie covers up Nick’s carotid artery and calls a code blue. Cristina is the first on the scene in response to the code blue and comes in to find Lexie absolutely drenched in Nick’s blood. They get the bleeding to abate but Mark needs to operate ASAP and there’s no OR available.

One of the other ORs is being used by Derek, whose computer died while he was in the middle of surgery on Mary’s brain. With the closest technicians in Spokane, five hours away, he has to do something. Intern Steve says they can’t just wait it out because the probe is in the brain already and it will swell. Rose offers to try to fix it – she’s had three semesters of computer science at UC-Santa Cruz. That’s a party school, as Derek points out, but they’re fresh out of options so she goes to work!

Eventually, while Derek assists with some of the wiring and intern Steve holds the probe perfectly steady in the brain, Rose fixes the computer. They continue with the surgery and save the day.

Episode 9 – Crash Into Me, part I

The episode begins with Cristina dancing away in Meredith’s bedroom, telling Mer to dance away the pain and frustration she feels about life. Meredith is obsessing about what she would do if she didn’t have Derek in her life in some form. She wants to tell Derek not to see other people, but isn’t sure how to. Izzie, brooding, resents Cristina and Meredith’s friendship, especially due to issues with George.

Miranda is at home with her husband and son, Tucker Sr. and Jr. Tucker is upset that she is at the hospital all the time. She asks him to meet her for lunch so they can talk, but then must rush off to Seattle Grace.

Derek asks nurse Rose if they can be friends. He sort of flirts with her, pointing out some licorice stuck in her teeth. Later, Derek notices that she is wearing an engagement ring – around her neck. Clearly Der is making himself comfortable as a friend. Rose tells him that they broke off the engagement because he couldn’t give her what she needs. Funny how things like this work out.

Episode 8 – Forever Young

Are we still in high school or what? It’s all about growing up – or at least trying to – on Grey’s Anatomy. Miranda Bailey posts a sign announcing herself as Chief Resident, and she’s immediately put to the test when her high school crush – along with a ton of kids from California, who are in the area visiting colleges – lands in the ER.

The man, Marcus, calls her Mandy, and they flirt while she stitches up his cuts. Bailey is giddy like never before. She used to do Marcus’ homework for him back in school, when Miranda was a brainiac band geek and he was a track star. George notices that there might be something wrong with his heart, and they page Hahn, who tells Miranda she could have figured this out on her own and was too busy being smitten with Marcus.

A girl named Tricia whose face is bleeding and has broken bones, insists that nobody is going to touch her face but the head of plastic surgery. A cheerleader, this is, like, her life. But she’s got it good compared to Danny, who has a pencil going all the way through his eye into his brain.
